MCP Troubleshooting
Common MCP connection issues and how to resolve them.
"no matches found" When Adding the Server
Your shell treated the ? in the URL as a wildcard. This happens in zsh, the default shell on macOS.
Resolution: Put the URL in single quotes, exactly as the command on the MCP page shows:
claude mcp add urumi-<your-store> --transport http 'https://mcp.urumi.ai/mcp?store=<your-store>'
Sign-In Keeps Looping
If the browser keeps returning you to the sign-in or consent page:
- Sign in to the dashboard first - Open dash.urumi.ai in the same browser, sign in, then retry from your AI tool
- Click Allow once - Wait for the "Authorization complete" page before closing the tab
- Remove extra sign-in settings - If you added custom OAuth or authorization server settings to your client config, remove them. Use only the type and URL shown on the MCP page. The client finds the sign-in page on its own
Access Expired or Tools Stopped Working
Your sign-in can expire, or your access may have changed.
Resolution:
- Claude Code - Type
/mcp, pick the Urumi server and authenticate again - Other clients - Disconnect and reconnect the Urumi server, then sign in again
If you still get no tools after signing in, ask a store admin to check your role. You only get tools for things your role allows.
Your Store Is Missing on the Consent Screen
The consent screen only lists stores you are a member of.
| Reason | Solution |
|---|---|
| You are not on the store's team | Ask the store owner or an admin to invite you |
| You are signed in to a different Urumi account | Sign out of the dashboard, sign in with the right account, then retry |
| "You don't have access to any Urumi sites yet" | Ask an account owner to invite you, then try connecting again |
Wrong Store or "Not in Grant" Errors
Each connection works with one store. The store in the URL must match the store you picked on the consent screen.
Resolution: Copy the commands again from the MCP page of the store you want, and pick that same store when you sign in. For a second store, add a second connection.
